Professional Staff

Bert Rosica

Mr. Rosica is a principal with AER&CO. He has more than 30 years' experience in the energy, environmental, technology and finance fields.

Prior to founding AER&CO, Mr. Rosica was a principal with HB Capital and a director with Scully Capital services, both investment banking firms that specialized in the energy and environmental industries. He was a vice president with Caithness, a private investment company that focused on natural resource and technology investments. Mr. Rosica was a business development manager for Raytheon Engineers & Constructors and was a process engineer for Allied Chemical Corporation.

Mr. Rosica holds a BS in chemical engineering from Villanova University, and has studied environmental and nuclear engineering at Drexel University and business administration at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Rosica is a member of the Atlantic Cape Community College Engineering Advisory Board.

Tom Barnes

Mr. Barnes is a principal with AER&CO, representing manufacturers, fabricators and engineering and design firms in the water and waste water treatment, marine oil and water treatment, oil & gas equipment and waste oil recycling industries. He has executed capital formation, acquisition and divestiture transactions on their behalf.

Mr. Barnes has more than 30 years of experience in the practice of law, providing counsel to manufacturers, commercial lenders, real estate investors and institutional equity traders. Mr. Barnes helped found a specialty manufacturing and distribution start-up company, serving as general counsel and as a member of its Board of Directors. 

Mr. Barnes has a BS in accounting, a Juris Doctor from Villanova University and an MBA in finance from Temple University.

Courtney Rosica

Courtney Rosica is a Principal with AER&CO based in New York City. She has more than fifteen years of financial services experience on Wall Street across a variety of global sectors with a focus on investment banking, strategy, and management. She has been involved in more than $4 billion of global transactions with experience in leveraged buyouts, mergers & acquisitions, divestures, public and private financings, and various capital markets activities.

Prior to joining AER&CO, Ms. Rosica was a Director at Barclays, a top-tier, full service, global corporate and investment bank, where she was the Chief of Staff to the Global Head of Investment Banking and previously a banker within the Global Financial Sponsors Group. She also held several roles at Deutsche Bank, a German multinational investment bank and financial services company.

Ms. Rosica has a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and International Business from Villanova University and a M.B.A. in Finance and Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Richard Allen

Mr. Allen is an advisor with AER&CO focusing on Energy and Project Development and Financing. He has more than 30 years' of senior management and finance experience in the energy and technology industries.

Before joining AER&CO, Mr. Allen was president of the global development subsidiary of a $2 billion multi-national corporation. He has developed companies and sold equity through private placement to qualified investors including major private equity funds. The transactions were structured financings that were very complicated to syndicate and required knowledge of business structuring, risk mitigation and allocation, corporate formation, shareholder and joint venture agreements, and SEC rules and regulations. He has directed the preparation of investor Information Memorandum, pro forma projections, financial term sheets and detailed business plans. He participated in road shows to investors and lenders on a global basis.

Mr. Allen has experience in a number of key industries including, engineering and construction, electric utility, software development, oil and gas, waste to energy and equipment manufacture/development.

Mr. Allen has a BS Electrical Engineering, Fenn College of Engineering the Cleveland State University.

Ron McCracken

Mr. McCracken is an advisor with AER&CO focusing on the waste and recycling industry. He has many years of experience in the industry. Mr. McCracken owned and operated his own manufacturing concern where he developed experience acquiring and growing businesses. He is currently the Managing Principal of RJM Associates where he advises companies with strategic, marketing and business development matters.

Mr. McCracken has served with distinction in numerous industry leadership positions, including: member and past Chairman of the Waste and Recycling Supplier Advisory Board (formerly WASTEC); member and past Chairman of the Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF); member and former Officer of the National Waste & Recycling Association (formerly EIA, NSWMA); and, former member of The Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC) advising the US Secretary of Commerce.  Mr. McCracken received NW&RA’s Member of the Year award in 1992, and again in 2006, as well as a Distinguished Service award in 1998.  Mr. McCracken was inducted to the NW&RA’s Hall of Fame in 2010. 

Mr. McCracken has a BA, University Honors, in Economics and Business from the University of Toledo and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Ohio State University.

Marc Bone

Mr. Bone is an advisor with AER&CO. He has more than 20 years of experience as a senior financial executive specializing in strategic planning, transactions and operations and financial management.

Prior to joining AER&CO, Mr. Bone served as CFO of J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. (Austin, TX), Ron Luke & Associates, an early pioneer in claims auditing and pre-certifications for the healthcare industry and Ion Implant Services, a leading semiconductor contract manufacturing company.

Mr. Bone has a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the Financial Executives International association.

Jack Schramm

Mr. Schramm is an advisor with AER&CO. He has more than 30 years of experience in environmental policy development and implementation at high levels of government and industry.

Having worked in more than 20 countries throughout the world, Mr. Schramm specializes in environmental management systems and program formulation, regulatory compliance, economic incentives, legal analysis and drafting, and strategic planning. Prior to AER&CO and his consulting career, Mr. Schramm served as a US Environmental Protection Agency Regional Administrator. He was the founding director of regulatory affairs for Waste Management, Inc., the world's largest solid waste management firm, where he contributed to the formulation of national policy and regulation in the U.S. Congress and EPA.

Mr. Schramm has a Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and a BA with honors in politics and philosophy from Colgate University.

Ed Straker

Dr. Straker is an advisor with AER&CO focusing on energy and environmental technology and related transactions. He has more than 30 years' experience in P&L management, strategic marketing, and technology applications in the energy and environmental industries.

Prior to joining AER&CO, Dr. Straker had a distinguished career with SAIC, where he was an executive vice president and member of the board of directors. Among his many achievements at SAIC, Dr. Straker managed a $300 million-plus organization, growing profits more than 15% annually over a ten-year period through a combination of internal growth and strategic acquisitions. Dr. Straker lead efforts to expand services to utility clients to help them respond to deregulation, to create a profitable web-enable risk trading company and to provide technology strategies for utilities transitioning to competitive markets.

Dr. Straker earned his PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Michigan and his BS in nuclear engineering from the University of Tennessee.

Janis Anderson

Ms. Anderson is an advisor with AER&CO. She has more than 15 years of management consulting and transactional experience with utilities and industry.

Prior to AER&CO, Ms. Anderson was a Principal with PHB Hagler Bailly, an international management consulting firm where she advised senior executives on various business and strategic planning issues, including competing in unregulated markets, mergers and acquisitions and business startups.

Ms. Anderson has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the Colgate Darden Graduate School of the University of Virginia.

Rennie Quinn

Mr. Quinn is an advisor with AER&CO focusing on international water and wastewater transactions and business opportunities. He has more than 30 years' experience in international water.

Prior to joining AER&CO, Mr. Quinn was President and CEO, Severn Trent Environmental Services (STES), overseeing the domestic and international water operations businesses of STES and all of Severn Trent Plc's global water operations acquisitions and businesses.

Mr. Quinn received his BSc Chemistry with honors from London University and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Jeff Beeson

Mr. Beeson is an advisor with AER&CO focusing on Europe and other international markets. In Germany since 1987, he has more than 15 years' experience in international business, strategy and transactions.

Prior to joining AER&CO, Mr. Beeson advised US and European companies on business strategy implementation and transactions with several prestigious German based firms, including Bain & Company, where he planned and executed corporate strategy projects for international clients. Mr. Beeson was also an international economist for Chase Econometrics.

Mr. Beeson received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, his MA from the Lauder Institute of International Management and his BA from Haverford College. His languages include English, German, French and Spanish.

Jeanine Hull

Ms. Hull is an advisor with AER&CO. She has more than 20 years of experience with financial transactions in the power industry.

Prior to joining AER&CO, Ms. Hull was president of Strategic Energy Advisors Inc., advising corporate and institutional clients on energy trading strategies. While at SEA, she also served as general counsel to two start-up entities, Conjunction LLC (developer of a HVDC transmission line) and North American Energy Credit and Clearing LLC, a credit management and settlement facility for energy markets. She was also a Senior Vice President with Cantor Fitzgerald, developing new products and services for the energy markets. Ms. Hull was vice president and assistant general counsel for LG&E Power Inc. Prior to L&GE, Ms. Hull was project finance counsel with two prominent Washington law firms.

Ms. Hull has a BA with honors from the University of Kentucky and a law degree from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.
